At first glance, NECA's new Pacific Rim kaiju, "Concept Axehead" (due out for release October 2014), looks like a mere repaint of the Series 3 release "Trespasser". And indeed they are superficially similar. However, a closer look reveals that more effort and care was put into this release than a simple new coat of paint. Here are the differences, some of which might surprise you:

Imported Thoughts: The Future of Pacific Rim Kaiju Figures
Greetings, fellow collectors! This is Mr. X, reporting for the first time on Import Monsters! Today, for my first post here, I thought I'd share my thoughts on the future of NECA's Pacific Rim lineup, specifically what kaiju I believe they should absolutely release who isn't really necessary, and how likely these kaiju are to be produced. Import Monsters Theme Week
NECA Week 2014
Let's face it... A week is never a week at IM. After reviewing Rattlor and Grimlock, I realized just how NECA heavy the rest of the line up was for "Figures I Like From Lines I Don't Collect By Companies I Hate Week 2014 ". Therefore, it is now NECA Week 2014. From this point on we'll be reviewing various NECA releases both new and old, but retaining the brutally honest and casual style of the last theme week. Hope you enjoy.

NECA Reveals The First Pacific Rim Series 4 Figure: SCUNNER
NECA is producing an action figure based on the demonic kaiju Scunner! Announced back in February at Toy Fair (as part of Pacific Rim series 4), it was kept under wraps until now!
Also interesting, NECA revealed that some hard to get figures will be reissued:
My prediction? Crimson Typhoon and Striker Eureka. Fingers crossed.

NECA reveals stock photo of the Alien 3 Runner and some Pacific Rim plans!
Some tidbits of Info were passed along concerning Pacific Rim Series 4 and Beyond!
*Series 4 consists of Scunner and Concept Axehead. Concept Axehead is said to have new parts and a new deco possibly like the figure pictured here:
*An 18" Cherno Alpha is confirmed to be in the works. Maybe two more jaegers as well!
*A Gipsy Danger 2.0 with completely new sculpt and Plasma Cannons is in the works. Gipsy 2.0 will be released in Pacific Rim Series 5.
Tomorrow NECA will Also be showing their prototype of the first Classic Godzilla: Godzilla 1994! It will be interesting to see how this figure compares to the S.H. Monsterarts release.
